Tit-bits

Aasims mega Christmas and New Year gift was delivered today. He is thrilled to say the least. It was exactly an year ago we saw Ispace at Kemp Fort, Bangalore and wanted it for him. Finally found it Nagpur and bought it for him this Christmas.

The exterior painting will hopefully get over by day after and I will have some respite. Will start rearranging the house after the work is done.

Knowing new friends is fun specially if you kind of knew them earlier 😉

Updated Finally!!!

My cooking is still as good – made Chicken Coriander Korma and proved it this Sunday 🙂 makes me feel a lot better – Aasim as usual announced that the chicken was no 1 (his way of saying its the best)

Indian Railways online ticket booking system rocks!! The country is indeed improving or at-least so it seems.

More repair work at home, more asthma bouts more sneezes… . well.. I better learn to live with these things.

Aasim and have made their minds about getting a dog after the fence is done – they better make their minds about handling the responsibilities of the dog as well

Last week I discovered the Fixed Deposit interest rates have come down to 6% PA – I remember the days when it use to be around 18% PA and that was just 5 years back – economy looking up-wards!!!

Rama the jap production

Today morning, while driving down I noticed the expressways in Thailand are named after Rama. I thought of educating my son, and told him the story of Ramayana is known and played in Thailand fine art theaters as well. His pat reply was ” I know, the film has got released in Thailand too”

He was referring to the Animated Japanese production of Ramayana currently being aired on the cartoon network in India

Food for coding

Whoa!! finally got some time to update the journal.

What seemed the toughest job after we arrived here was easy – to find Vegetarian Indian food for our programmers – I had googled before arriving at bangkok and shortlisted some indian restaurants what I wasn’t sure was how far they are from the office. So after reaching here with the help of people here, I reached Sukhumvit and located Komala – The best part is they serve Vegetarian Indian cuisine and even home deliver for free for an area of 20kms. For us they are charging more – but things seem to be finally settled now.

A super market nearby for milk and breakfast items, Lunch Dinner taken care of, I expect everyone to work at full force and finish the project successfully.

Aasim was ill when we started from Nagpur – he seems to be ok now. He is freaking out on the variety of meat available – refuses to eat bread or rice.. He is also loving the play area at various shopping malls and McDonald’s.

I shopped a little yesterday and today Shampoos, Clothes, Cosmetics all good quality and nearly 50% cheaper than what we get in India… I intend to shop to my hearts content which is a tough job 😉

“It is not enough to be busy … The question is: What are we busy about?” Henry David Thoreau

Its not that I couldnt have taken out even five minutes to update on whats happening in my life, its just that i did not feel like. Being busy was a good excuse.
A lot happened during past couple of weeks but it wasnt anything out of ordinary. Not that I have anything specific to write today, its just that i have the inclination to write.
When I was 16 I would keep filling pages of my diary with any thought that came to my mind, i was an introvert and the most easy way to express myself was to write. I wrote best of my poetry at that time – as i finished college and became a “mass communication” professional – I started talking more, the need for writing to express lessened. I had willing ears to listen to me, I wrote less and less..
Today I feel i have gone back to being that 16 year old and am just writing whatever is coming to my mind – i love it this way – writing not for anybody to read -writing for myself.

I will not utter a word
still you understand
My eyes speak
and you reciprocate
Silence resonates
its the language of caring and
sharing the bond of love
Silence is not a barrier
we walk this bridge
