Wow! I have learnt Bhairav, vibhas, todi and another one, amongst the mornings ragas. But this one is new to me. How is it different from Bhairav?
Ahir Bhairav is a derivative raag of Bhairav Thaat.
Raag Bhairav (which is also from the same thaat) has swars S r G M P D N S (re is komal)
and Ahir Bhairav is S r G M P D n S ( re and ni komal)
The poorvang of ahir bhairav resembles Kafi. A very good resource for theory of classical music is Rajan Parrikar’s page which i refer to very often.
