It was very annoying to work on yahoo mail and yahoo groups. After a while the windows showed huge pop up ads which hamper the vision and go away only when clicked on some link on the opened page of yahoo mail or yahoo group.
Yahoo sucks!!! at least as of today!!
Firefox Power
This is the maximum adblock I’ve ever collected from over 900-odd websites I hit regularly. Also there is an extension Remove It Permanently extension. I will publish a RIP grouping soonish.
Sad to think this same ADs are what pays for my daily bread and butter … mmm …
Re: Firefox Power
Hey, I use to be an ad-woman, they were my bread and butter – I dont want to block ads. I just want certain amount of usability and sensibility to prevail. I very much like the chikita mini malls, they are useful and not at all annoying.
However, thanks for your adblock. I might not use it but I am sure many more peole will.
P.S – How’s your hand now – hope you are taking care.

That’s where RIP rocks … For example, if you were reading planet.foss.in and wanted to RIP out my me soul searching, add this to your RIP.
//div[starts-with(a/@href , ‘http://t3.dotgnu.info/blog/me/’)]
The entire text of the entry – just disappears. All you need to do to RIP out such css floaters is to the find the class/id of the div and just write such a pattern. You can rip out whatever actually annoys you really badly.
Btw, the linked adblock was compiled for my sister – she’s on dialup.
You must install the Flashblock extension to Firefox. This makes it so that embedded flash animations on web sites do not start playing automatically. the user has to click on the flash button to make them start playing.
Also, you must edit your userContent.css. I have not seen very many ads over the last 2 years thanks to this nifty hack.
See my reply above. I hate to block ads, infact I click on them if they are relevant and useful to me. What I hate is utter incompetence on someone’s part. I am sure this must not be so bothersome on alternative browsers 😉
Could be the browser.
You should have tried with another browser. For instance I see flash ads taking up one corner of the windows in opera. Switch to FF and it goes away.
It *could* be the browser being bad you know!
Re: Could be the browser.
urr… look at the screen shot -it is Firefox. Am using Firefox 1.0.7
Re: Could be the browser.
Right, and in this case, try with a browser *other* than firefox.
Re: Could be the browser.
yeah right – now to start using IE 😉
Re: YAHOO sucks dude it sucks
