Using left over egg yolks

If you bake frequently or have left over egg yolks every time you make an omelet with egg whites, this post is for you. And if you can not use the yolks right away it is a good idea to freeze them. Here’s how:

Freezing left over egg yolks

Add a pinch of salt to every yolk  you have carefully tip them in an ice cube tray placing each yolk in one ice cube cavity. Freeze overnight and transfer to an airtight freezer bag for storing them longer. When ready to use, thaw the number of yolks required and use.

Leftover egg yolks also stay usable in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
