I like to cook and eat good food, but hate to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Specially on workdays. This quick and easy low-fat chicken filling comes to my rescue very often. Just try it and I am sure, this will be a hit with you too.
You can make the low-fat chicken filling in advance (it’s just a stir fry) and refrigerate. I recently used this as a topping for Pasta made in white sauce
Ingredients
- Butter - 1 Tbsp
- Chicken - 300 gms
- Dried herbs (Oregano, thyme, Rosemary) -1/4 Tsp
- Chilli flakes - 1/2 Tsp
Method
Step 1
Get boneless chicken. Wash it clean and cut it into small strips or cubes.
Step 2
Marinate chicken in pepper, oregano, a bit of salt and some chilli flakes
Step 3
Keep it aside for 15 mins
Step 4
Add butter to pan
Step 5
Fry chicken for about 1.5 mins (or less) in pan and it will be done.
Step 6
The chicken should be cooked yet soft and juicy. Timing is important, it takes very little time for this chicken to get cooked.
Step 7
Use this chicken as a topping over pasta or as a filling in sandwiches. You can even serve it with parathas - Use your imagination.
Trivia
We end up eating a fat rich diet often simply because we want something good to eat..esepcially at the end of the day completely knowing the ill effects of a high-fat diet and sedentary lifestyle.
Low-fat diets have been promoted for the prevention of heart disease. Lowering fat intake from 35-40% of total calories to 15-20% of total calories has been shown to decrease total and LDL cholesterol by 10 to 20%; however, most of this decrease is due to a reduction in saturated fat intake.Reducing fat in the diet can make it easier to cut calories. Fat provides nine calories per gram while carbohydrates and protein each provide four calories per gram, so choosing low-fat foods makes it possible to eat a larger volume of food for the same number of calories.
