It&#8217;s<a href=\"http:\/\/tariquesani.net\" target=\"_blank\"> Tarique&#8217;s <\/a>birthday and he loves to eat as well as cook good food. In fact,\u00a0I started appreciating good food and cooking only after marriage. Needless to say, I use to be a very &#8220;kam chalau&#8221; cook to begin with and barely managed to get a meal together.<\/p>\n<p>We had been married for about a month or so, when I felt the need to impress my husband with my culinary skills. So, with a\u00a0lot of efforts I made bharwan\u00a0tindey (Stuffed round gourd). While it was a major achievement for me to be able to keep them ready on time. On the dinner table I heard nothing&#8230; not even a word. So before I joined him for dinner, I asked him as I took my first bite &#8220;Kaise bane hain?&#8221; It did not take me long to realise that I had managed to burn them and they were way too salty. My poor man was eating quietly without complaining and here I was, expecting compliments. It has been 20 years to our marriage and I haven&#8217;t repeated that dinner menu of &#8220;bharwan\u00a0tindey&#8221;.\u00a0I still remember that look on his face and we joke about it till date!<\/p>\n<p>It took a while, but I started enjoying the process of getting a meal together for my family and got better in it. For some years I did give it up, <a href=\"http:\/\/swatisani.net\/kitchen\/cooking-as-stress-buster\/\" target=\"_blank\">but realised that cooking is an <\/a>art,<a href=\"http:\/\/swatisani.net\/kitchen\/cooking-as-stress-buster\/\" target=\"_blank\"> and a major stress buster.<\/a>\u00a0We are now in the Kitchen very often, and we enjoy cooking together, listening to some good music and discussing our day.<\/p>\n<p>This one&#8217;s for you, my love, for a healthy and happy life.
